US Welcomes Strategic Agreements Between Syria, Saudi Arabia
The agreements span multiple fields, including aviation, telecommunications, infrastructure, and real estate. Commenting on the developments, a US official said: “Strategic partnerships in aviation, infrastructure, and telecommunications will contribute meaningfully to Syria's reconstruction efforts.”
The same statement underlined Washington’s broader view on regional cooperation, adding: “As US President Donald Trump has emphasized, regional stability is best achieved when nations of the region take responsibility for their own future—and this partnership delivers on that principle.”
Earlier on Saturday, Syria and Saudi Arabia concluded a package of major agreements in Damascus aimed at upgrading telecommunications infrastructure, expanding digital connectivity, and launching a new phase of bilateral cooperation grounded in mutual trust and respect, according to Syrian officials.
Saudi Arabia has emerged as one of the most supportive regional partners of Syria’s new administration following the removal of the Bashar al-Assad government. In recent months, relations between the two countries have accelerated through frequent high-level contacts and the signing of multiple accords, particularly in the economic sector, as part of broader efforts to support Syria’s reconstruction.
